King of Kings Baptist Ministries was founded January 1999 at the home of Bishop & Lady Ellen Carter 533 Greenleaf Drive Monroeville PA. The first service was held at the Bloomfield/Garfield Community Center. After two months, God opened the door for King of Kings to purchase its present location at 5169 Broad Street in the Garfield section of Pittsburgh PA. The original board consisted of Deacon Robert L. Harvin, Sr. Chairman and fellow deacons Melvin Mitchell, Louis Scott and Richard Wright. Trustee Marcus Fitzpatrick, Chairman and fellow trustees Linda Cannon, Arthur Harris, Doris Harvin, Bill Jackson, Lisa Jackson, Leon Rhodes and Carol Smith. Deaconess Doris Harvin, President and fellow deaconess, Alice Booker, Linda Cannon, Regina Lee, and Carol Scott. In this building we were blessed with a beautiful sanctuary, a lower dining area and a working kitchen. In addition to the building we acquired the land next to the church for future expansion.
During these 19 years through faith and obedience of our members we have been blessed to purchase a 25 seat passenger bus to help transport members and visitors as well as enabling us to take road trips to fellowship with the saints in nearby cities & states. There have been many additions that have enhanced and beautified our sanctuary, restrooms, vesibule and the exterior of the building.
We have been blessed to be able to birth several ministries: Your Sister N Christ CB Ministry
My Sisters Keepers Ministry Conquerors Ministry Bethesda House Higher Living
One Day at a Time Grieving Ministry
We continued in our faith and obedience and burned our mortgage in eight (8) years. Bishop Carter’s God-given vision for expansion has begun with plans to build a Community Center. An architect has been secured, building has been designed and Phase I has been completed. With God’s blessings King of Kings has not incurred any charges for this Phase. We are now in Phase II, still following God’s orders and directions as to when ground breaking will begin and believing and praying this too will be dept-free for King of Kings. The Community Center will not only be a place for our youth but it will also help adults in Career Development.
King of Kings proudly represents Pennslvania as its State Headquarters under the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International. Our Presiding Bishop Joseph W. Walker, III through the guidance of the Holy Spirit saw fit to elevate and consecrate Overseer L. C. Carter to Bishop Lee C. Carter in June of 2017.
2018 marks 30 years of Pastoring for Bishop Lee C. Carter. Under the ministry and awesome leadership of Bishop, King of Kings remains a vibrant growing house of worship “Where Strangers Are Friends We Just Haven’t Met Yet!” And with the help of the Holy Spirit we are saving souls and changing lives through the teaching and preaching of God’s Holy Word.
